Brian Kurtz became CEO of the San Jose Downtown Association in January 2026, leading a suite of nonprofits focused on place management, advocacy, and economic development. Prior to joining San Jose, he was the founding President and CEO of Downtown Tulsa Partnership, leading the organization from its launch in 2021. He previously served as Executive Director of the City of Tulsa’s Downtown Coordinating Council. Earlier in his career, Brian held place management and economic development roles in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Buffalo, New York.
Brian serves on the board of directors for the International Downtown Association and the San Jose Chamber of Commerce. He is an IDA-certified leader in place management and a member of the Urban Land Institute.
