Bio

Jennifer Mead is one of Tucson’s leading visual designers and creative leaders, working at the intersection of design and community, with nearly 15 years of experience in branding, web design, and creative strategy. Her work centers on place-based storytelling and destination marketing, finding the details that make a place feel real and worth noticing. As the Marketing and Communications Manager for the Downtown Tucson Partnership, she connects people to the city’s businesses, events, and the everyday culture that makes Tucson what it is. Her work is about building real partnerships and telling the stories that bring people together. With a background and degree in graphic design, Mead spent years in tourism technology as a designer and art director, shaping brands and websites for places across the country. She led design on projects for Maine Tourism Association and Visit Guam, and as the art director for Visit Austin, providing a new visual identity, along with work for a range of businesses and destination marketing organizations.  Mead’s approach to community-building is hands-on. She co-founded CreativeMornings Tucson and has supported groups like AIGA Arizona, the American Advertising Federation Tucson, and Female StoryTellers, connecting designers, artists, and entrepreneurs through events and shared projects. In these collaborations and outside of them, Mead has become an integral part of Tucson’s artistic center focusing on mentoring, collaboration, and building connections across the city’s design and cultural landscape. She maintains a studio practice, making mixed-media collage under the name Fractured Curio.
