Downtown Madison, Inc. (DMI), a nonprofit membership organization formed more than four decades ago, works to create an economically strong, inclusive, equitable and vibrant downtown Madison through advocacy, policy research, community building and place leadership. The BID promotes the district as a whole and creates a welcoming downtown environment through art installations, holiday lights, flower planters, an ambassador program and numerous programs and events, including the Madison Night Market.
