2020 University & College Town Summit

When:  Apr 1, 2020 from 17:30 to 18:30 (ET)
Join IDA and Iowa City Downtown District for the 2020 University & College Town Summit April 1-3, 2020 in Iowa City, IA to share strategies, build partnerships, and find inspiration. This summit will focus on the unique downtowns that host colleges and universities as the backdrop to their urban spaces.

Designated a UNESCO City of Literature, Iowa City is home to the University of Iowa and the best new tradition in college sports: “The Wave.” Downtown Iowa City, adjacent to the UI’s central “Pentacrest” landmark campus, showcases historic buildings in juxtaposition to contemporary architecture hosting a wide variety of independent, locally-owned boutiques, shops, and some of the very best in dining and entertainment.

The Iowa City Downtown District serves the Downtown and Northside neighborhoods and is closely aligned with the University of Iowa. Membership of the ICDD is comprised of all the roughly 150 property owners, businesses and organizations that are located within these neighborhoods and the University. Members contribute to the ICDD through the SSMID levy or through a direct contribution. The ICDD provides a leadership directive that advocates for the District mission and serves as a mechanism to more efficiently implement District-wide marketing, programs, events, and projects that support vitality for the benefit of all the businesses within it, the University of Iowa, community members, and the region at large.
